Hollywood is crazy, remake this, remake that, anything that made a buck in the past will be remade. Sure some are hits but for the most part they are misses. And yeah what Lou said is right about the flicks, Hollywood is crazy corporate now and all about minimizing losses and what better way than  to have a fanbase that already exists. I am waiting the Garbage Pail Kids remake.

I agree, there have been some awesome remakes in the past, but "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" was an abhorrent piece of shit. Shame on you.

This movie has zero chance of not being bad.

Kurt Russel's beard in the the 1982 version was visually more spectacular than this junk.

Pingu's remake is better:

its not bad. just kind of boring. You already know how its going to end, something i could overlook if the characters were interesting. Some of the F/X are top notch though, so if your a dork for that kind of thing it may make it a little better for you.
