My Main Man Pat: Biggie

MMMP
We’re coming up on the tragic death date of the great Biggie Smalls, so My Main Man Pat has done the honor of finding some incredible designs this week! Which reminds me I forgot to get that Mr. Burns joint last time I failed :(. Check em out.

I must say I am loving the start our third year has gotten off to. We have multiple joints from the homie Ready2Rumbl up and yet it’s still not easy to say he has the dopest art on the page. I like with how high the bar has been set for the next 52…

For those of you who were following the page this time last year, you may recall that we dedicate the week of March 9th to the one and only Biggie Smalls. With this in mind I’ve been hunting artists on Instagram and am real please we landed Jim Spendlove. His “Word Up Magazine” design speaks for itself and I hope you’ll join me in welcoming him to the team.

Ready2Rumbl made me sweat a bit but came through as he always does with his “Ready2Die” joint. I love the way this man’s mind works and I think we may have our first two candidates for next years contest.

On that note, much respect to all of those who voted in our reprint contest. Although the competition was tight it is tough to argue with the eventual winner. R2R’s “If I Ruled The World” joint took the crown as last year’s finest design and will be our only reprint of the year. Also available in Hoodies this time around.

My Main Man Pat with a very dope drop this week, Pat if you read this I need that CREAM shirt!
CREAM
Nujabes

I never thought My Main Man Pat would take it this far. This week marks the end of our second year of existence and you know we got to go out in style. To have these two particular designs up for the occasion means a lot to yours truly and here’s why.

“CREAM” is just plain silly dope. The references are pretty obvious, so obvious that I can’t believe no ones put these two together before. The ski mask just takes it to another level….Ben R, you have humbled us yet again.

Equally excited about Captain Lemon’s latest effort but for different reasons. If any of you are not familiar with the works of Nujabes I haven’t been doing my job. His music wasn’t for everyone but if you like it chances are you fuckin love it, and that is the category I fall into. Real proud to be playing host to this one…REST IN BEATS JUN SEBA.

Also a reminder, we are down to the final four in our reprint contest and I can’t wait to watch these last three battles unfold. We are giving away $100 in free gear to those who make their voices heard so be sure to hit our facebook page Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday evenings to help us pick a winner.

Much respect to you fam, no way we’re here without y’all.

Well folks, we have arrived at week 100 and I’m giving myself a gift to celebrate. If you’ve been following the site for a minute, you can probably guess my personal favorite MC, and if not this week’s designs should make it clear. His name is MF DOOM, and the fact that both of these are related to my favorite album of his is just the icing on the cake.

As promised last week, I’d also like to give you a little something to mark the occasion. So, everyone who replies to this email with a link their personal favorite MF DOOM track in the body will be entered in a draw to win a free tee. For every 10 entries I get I will add another free shirt so your odds will be pretty good and I’m really looking forward to this playlist.

Big shouts to the artists, first time collaborator Jacob Hoopes and practical resident Ready2Rumbl, for making this week possible. The designers are the main reason we’ve come this far and these two will have a ton of personal meaning.

Finally, biggups to all of you for getting us here! I don’t think I have to explain how none of this would be possible without your support, but did want to add that it goes further just the dollars. Your feedback has shaped the site, and most of our growth has been because of you rocking our gear and telling your friends. I can’t thank you enough fam, looking forward to the next 100.

Salute,

Pat

My Main Man Pat’s back with a couple great designs.

We are in our 99th week, and it’s only right our last one in double digits will be spent with two golden era classics on the page. We try to keep it current but this right here is the hip-hop I grew up on, and will continue to be a big part of the site in the next 100 weeks. With that said, here’s why I’m loving this week’s fresh ink…

A standing ovation goes out to the homie Alan J. Thatcher for combining two of my favorite things in life with his “Heineken Brew” joint. Illmatic + cold beer = the quickest way to my heart. The man even put a condensated finish on the label…on point as per always Alan.

On a more minimalistic tip, the two words that come to mind on Ollie Sawards “Just To Get A Rep” are eye and pleasing. Like the message of the song and the artwork it inspired, it’s amazing what people will do for just 5 simple words.

Before I dip, with next week being the big 1-0-0 you know we’re going to do something to celebrate. It will involve a giveaway of some sort to those that get the newsletter, so make sure you peep next week’s email for details.

Bump good music this week folks,

My Main Man Pat: Pimp C x Souls of Mischief

My Main Man Pat has some dope designs for us today in the form of Souls of Mischief and their classic 93 til Infinity and one of my personal faves to grace Pat’s site this beautiful Pimp C shirt showing Pimp C with angel wings gettin’ pour’d up. It’s kind of depressing design as Pimp C lost his life to an Overdose but it’s what Pimp C was into so I can’t judge.

We are in our 96th week and it’s because of you we have gotten this far. In an effort to reward those who cop our shirts on the regular, we have introduced a loyalty program to the page. Going forward, everytime you buy a shirt, 10% of your purchase will go into a bank of points which can be used as currency for future gear. You must purchase with a registered account in order to accumulate points. If you don’t have one yet, you will get 250 points upon signup, and if you do your account will be credited with that amount in the coming days. All the best in 2015 my people!

My Main Man Pat is back, Another week and another couple of shirts for ya’s
outkast
Action

I have got to be honest folks, I am pretty happy to have two designs that everybody is going to be loving back on the page. We received a lot of feedback on the police inspired shirts we had up last week, some positive and some not so much. Then the shooting went down in NYC and I was close to pulling the shirts. In the end though, giving the artists an outlet to express themselves is what we’re supposed to be all about and that ended any second thoughts I was having.

I must say this week’s designers have embraced that philosophy. First time collaborator Justin Alejandro has certainly made a strong impression with “Forever Ever”, a line that needed to be illustrated on this site a long time ago.

On the right is something of equal beauty, a creation from the mind of Dutch artist P.Winkel. “Roll With It” is a tribute to one of his favorite Bronsolinio lines and I highly recommend taking this one in on full zoom as it is as intricate as the mans beard.

A very happy holiday to you and yours fam, will be back at you next week.

My Main Man Pat is back again this week, I missed last week, sorry Pat! I’ll try to stay on my A-Game.

We are keeping it old school this week at My Main Man Pat and I hope you all will oblige. Both of this week’s designs are inspired by tracks that got me hooked on hip-hop, and it’s going to be a special seven days considering they are a big reason for this page’s existence.

Most of you know that we are based out of Canada, and it’s only right we are teaming up with fellow Canuck Alan J. Thatcher on a shirt inspired by the man who put our country’s hip-hop scene on the map. I don’t know how big “Let Your Backbone Slide” got on your countries charts, but it opened the door for a lot of cats up here and I’m honored to be paying the Maestro Fresh Wes a salute.

“Skills To Pay The Bills” is our second print from Ollie Saward’s Droppin Knowledge series which are hand lettered illustrations of some of Hip-Hop’s all-time classic lyrics. Beastie Boy fans are likely to dig this one a little extra but to be honest I can’t think of many rappers who haven’t used this line at some point and it needed to be brought to life.

Until next week,

Pat

My Main Man Pat: MF DOOM

Another week and more excellent design schemes from our MAIN MAN PAT!
DOOM 1
DOOM 2

It’s a full blown DOOM takeover this week at My Main Man Pat. Normally, we like to spread the love in terms of the rappers we pay homage to but these ones needed to be displayed side by side. On one side we’ve got Ready2Rumbl’s record holding 26th collabo, on the other Brandon Treadwell’s first. Both of these fine men have clearly figured out the quickest path to our hearts though, and if you know me you know it’s going to be a good week for the speakers.

Big shouts to Stephen G. for taking down last week’s free shirt contest with his suggestion of the “Mathematics” sample. Matter of fact, big shouts to all those who sent in your submissions, it was a ton of fun going through them all. We will definitely be running another one soon so stay tuned.

Enjoy the next seven days and keep those fazers on stun,

Pat

More goods from My Main Man Pat

First off, we were called out last week for not running a shirt giveaway in a while. I had to agree that it’s been a minute, so we are making up for it this week. In the name of Leescratchterry’s Gang Starr design, simply send in your favorite DJ Premier sample flip by replying to this email to enter into a draw for one of this week’s t-shirts. There are no wrong answers here, so everyone who sends one in will be entered in a draw with the winner being announced to all participants Thursday.

It’s a good week to be offering a giveaway as I am very excited to have both of this week’s joints on the page. There’s not much I can add to the beauty that is “Flipping Script”, but I will let you know that I have been bugging Leescratchterry for a collabo for some time. This was the piece I wanted from the beginning, and I hope you will join me in making it a success as the remainder of this man’s portfolio is bananas.

Neil Kainth brings his way with words back to the page after a brief hiatus. He was evidently pretty inspired by the new Logic joint, and this will be our first shirt design inspired by his work. “Roll Blunts/Make Music” is a life philosophy I can get behind, just like the design itself less is quite often more.

Have a great week and very much looking forward to going through some of these contest entries.
